Fashion Week in New York this season was shorter by two days, but it only benefited her - designers showcased a lot of strong collections which will surely find a response from buyers. We have collected the 5 most powerful collections. Watch and be inspired!
Designer Michael Kors has relied on elegant and comfortable clothing in a bourgeois style, filled with cozy classic ensembles, timeless outerwear and elements of equestrian sport. Models showed all kinds of cozy capes. On the catwalk appeared both voluminous checkered capes, and monochrome versions, gathered on the chest with a leather strap.
The ability to highlight the most important cultural moments of the past and make them resonate with today is the most powerful quality of a designer. The Marc Jacobs FW 2020 collection has no prints, any additions or decorations. The star of the show was Miley Cyrus, defiled on the show in black sconces, trousers and high leather gloves.
Prabal Gurung dedicated his new collection to the city and its "eclectic losers and dreamers." The tuxedo became the basis of the collection, but the designer presented it in all kinds of variations: from knitwear (another actively developing trend) to colorful floral prints on silk. The main element of the collection was feathers that adorned cardigans, voluminous tops and dresses.
Gabriela Hearst, presented perhaps the most conscious collection at New York Fashion Week this season. The collection was made of raincoats, a pair of bags from the recycled remains of the Turkish carpet and a pair of jackets from the already existing outerwear, which the designer dismantled and reassembled again. And short knitted scarves were hand-made from recycled materials.
Designers Kate and Laura Mullivi amazed with their gothic collection. The key difference of the collection was the silhouettes of the 1940s: polka dot day dresses, sequins, draped blouses and voluminous sleeves.
