Next spring will be very "naked," right down to the shoes

After the naked dress, here are the naked shoes, the transparent shoes with a delicate nude effect.

By naked shoes we do not mean the strappy sandals that leave a good portion of the foot uncovered. Instead, we mean shoes made of various transparent or translucent materials-Pvc, vinyl, Plexiglas or mesh-that completely cover the foot with a nude effect.

Naked shoes in pvc and lucite experienced a moment of glory a few seasons ago: launched by Yeezy, followed by many brands including Balmain, Armani, Miu Miu and Amina Muaddi - the Jordanian-Romanian designer who made them her trade mark - they have been sported by fashion insiders and boldly styled celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, or by stars on the red carpet.

Naked shoes are now back on the spring summer 2023 runways in different interpretations. At Loewe's, transparent ballet flats that looked as if they were molded on the models' feet, in a material of potential impracticality, were on the runway. Dilara Findikoglu declined them in a mules version, Simon Rocha in gelly sandals made of rigid plastic.

Transparent heels lead the naked shoes trend.

During fashion month, Net-a-Porter recorded a 400 percent increase in searches for "transparent heels," and according to marketing director Libby Page, the retailer purchased 18 new models for the upcoming season.

Giving the most glam interpretation of naked shoes with transparent heels is Valentino: the spring summer 2023 fashion show was all about height, with models striding down the runway clad in vertiginous footwear that recalled Lady Gaga's beloved "stripper platforms." Pierpaolo Piccioli capitalized on the success of his legendary Tan-Go wide heel pumps stopped at the ankle and presented pumps with futuristic Plexiglas platforms and transparent pvc uppers with ankle straps, paired with straight-cut mini-dresses and brodé outerwear.

The naked shoes in translucent mesh

Acne Studios and Bottega Veneta's boots, on the other hand, are made of a translucent mesh of the consistency of tulle that delicately veils the foot, with exposed stitching on the upper or lace-effect embroidery, paired with white or neutral-toned dresses in a romantic, dreamy mood.
