Following New York and London, the Milan Fashion Week has taken place from the 22nd to the 28th of February 2022, showing the autumn winter 2022/2023 collection. The streets of the Italian city of fashion have been involved in a warm and chaotic environment, bringing people back to the good old days.

  1. Moschino

Jeremy Scott declared to be one of the king of this MFW. The fall runway that he created was a revisitation of light fixture wear as headwear, as well as reminding us the cast of Beauty and the Best; everything set on A Space Odyssey. In the end, the creative director appeared in a red astronaut suit.

A new Romanticism. In the dichotomy of a space between the technological and the analogical, the woman who parades in the Foundation frees herself from the schemes without ceasing to play.

An idea tht is reflected in the clothing. Brutally romantic, like the era in which we live and the city in which the maison is based.

The feelings are those of an impossible nostalgia suggested by the full skirts, high-waisted and knee-length, with crinoline, which have lost the bright colours of the fifties in which they were reborn, to be tinged with a black that is only a symbol of the rapidity of the present.

Similarly, men's dressing becomes even more pronounced in double-breasted jackets and single-breasted leather coats or short and long bomber jackets, which are always outsized, oversized.

The models parade between the mirrors, first on the notes of a violin and then to the rhythm of Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat. Although Alessandro Michele's stylistic signature is clearly evident, this collection is a rethink of the brand's codes. The distorting and reflective power of the mirror is used as a metaphor to present a new collection. Gucci brings to the runway the image of the Maison that this mirror conveys: a mix of textures and colours; an overlapping of images and meanings.

Speaking of afterthoughts, the choice to present Gucci and Adidas' new collaboration on the runway was a strategic one. Gucci, which has been a pioneer in bringing collaborations to the runway, blends its aesthetic with the sportswear and pop aesthetic of Adidas.

  1. Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani walked the runway during Milan Fashion Week, and the men's collection joined the women's collection, due to the Covid emergency.

What surprises us are the hems that are shorter on average, perfect for partying, while in the men's wardrobe the voluminous but rigorous outerwear stands out. For her a lively chromatic palette, full of pinks, blues and reds: for him the shades of grey.
