LOEWE's new capsule collection and interesting facts about the English brand
LOEWE is a brand with a rich history, cultural heritage and traditions of Spain - has been winning the hearts of millions of people all over the world for more than 170 years!
In 1939, on the main street of Gran Via in Madrid, the first flagship boutique LOEWE was opened, which exists to this day. For the first time, “closed” shop windows were used in the boutique, which made it possible to colorfully present the current collections and bestsellers, and also ensured the privacy of the royal people, aristocrats and celebrities in the boutique.
In the 60-70s of the twentieth century, LOEWE launched fashion collections of clothes for men and women, collections of silk scarves, shoes and sunglasses. All that is needed to create a sophisticated and aristocratic image.
By the 1890s, the number of representatives of high society and the bourgeoisie began to increase among buyers of Loewe products. The talent of the masters was noticed by the royal court. Around the same time, the workshop launched the production of bags from new materials - reptile skin.
After only 5 years, in the 1910th, Loewe became the most important workshop in this market segment. Then, in many cities in Spain, Loewe stores began to open. So the brand from a simple workshop became expensive and luxury.
They presented their first collection of clothes for women to the public in 1965. After 5 years, the brand logo was developed. A huge sensation made a bag called Amazona on brand admirers. It was created in 1975. This model was so universal that it suited various images and events. This bag is handmade. It is made from various small pieces of leather of the highest quality. To sew it, it was necessary for about six hours of labor of four masters.
In the 70s of the 19th century, the stunning master of leather dressing - Enrique Leiva Rossberg adjoined the masters. The appearance of a talented master reflected in the profitability of the workshop, so it was soon renamed the modern name - Loewe. The next stage of activity was the expansion of the range. The workshop began to produce bags, covers for books, wallets and much more.
At the end of the 20th century, Loewe came under the wing of the largest concern of our time - LVMH. Then there was a replacement in the management team.
In 2013, the company, together with Junya Watanabe, created a collection of outfits in the popular style of the time - punk patchwork. At the same time, changes took place in the company: instead of Stuart, Jonathan Anderson took the position of designer. He was a supporter of an incredible cut, graphic shapes and a practical lack of decor. Also in his products a combination of male and female elements of clothing is traced.
Today LOEWE is represented in more than 200 of its own fashion boutiques around the world, and perfumes are enjoyed in 43 countries with pleasure.
The new Loewe collection has a fairly wide range: from miniature accessories to winter coats. The LOEWE collection pays homage to William De Morgan’s fantastic creations and floral arabesques. Bold models, as well as casual wear and accessories, are complemented by luxurious details that reflect De Morgan's many years of craftsmanship.
