Invisible Men: A large scale exhibition of men’s fashion in London
The Westminster Men’s Clothing Archive will host the Invisible Men exhibition, dedicated to the last 120 years of men’s fashion. The exhibition will showcase more than 170 items of clothing, most of which have never been presented to the public.
The objective of the exposition is to explore the design language of men’s fashion, which focuses on repeating archetypal functional items of clothing designed for a specific industrial, technical or military use. Invisible Men will demonstrate how designers broke these conditional boundaries with minimal but significant modifications to silhouettes and materials. This four-week exhibition will consist of twelve sections, which showcase designer garments, as well as military, functional and utilitarian outfits.
