Insiders’ Guide: Spending a day in Copenhagen
Are you in Copenhagen, just passing through or planning to go for the next Copenhagen fashion week? Whatever your reason, there’s always a lot to do in this city and we’re here to help you make the most of it.
Copenhagen is known for its canals, colorful buildings, and excellent food. Centuries ago the city was the land of Vikings and today it is ranked as the happiest city in the world. This is a guide on how you can spend one full day in Copenhagen.
Morning walk
Start your early morning by heading north and walking in one of the major touristic spots, the Little Mermaid. The bronze statue inspired by Hand Andersen’s fairytale is always busy with tourists but still worth visiting. We suggest going early to avoid the big crowds. There are also many coffee shops in the area for you to grab a quick coffee.

Breakfast/Brunch
After your walk, you can head to Vesterbo to grab a delicious Danish-style brunch at Mad&Kaffe: coffee, rye bread with jam or cheese, eggs, salmon, pastries, and more.

To get around in Copenhagen, we recommend renting a bike for the day, it’s the most efficient way to explore the city, to have some fun, and feel like a local. It's also a fast way to get around while not missing any attraction around you.
King's Garden
On your way to the next destination, you can bike through The King’s Garden, enjoy the greenery and then check out the Denmark's Crown Jewels in the Rosenborg castle. Don't miss a gorgeous view of Copenhagen by climbing into the Round tower, which is 5 mins by bike from the Castle. To get to the top of the tower, you can walk the spiral ramp instead of climbing thousands of stairs.

Choose your next attraction
Next, you can either go to one of the many interesting museums in Copenhagen, check out a beautiful church, or see another Danish Castle.
If you choose a museum, we'd like to suggest a more modern one: Copenhagen Contemporary (CC), a center for contemporary art installations created by world stars and new emerging talents.

Or, you can choose to go to the largest church in Scandinavia, The Mighty Frederik's Church, also known as the 'Marble Church'. Both the exterior and interior are very impressive with a copper green dome and golden designs.

Finally, you can tour the Christiansborg Castle, which is today the seat of the Danish Parliament, the Danish Prime Minister’s Office, and the Supreme Court of Denmark. The castle was rebuilt many times and has vintage heirlooms from 800 years ago. Indulge yourself with some history and antique interiors.

You can also do all three if you're up for it!
Dine at a Michelin star restaurant
After this full day, you deserve a fancy dinner at a Michelin star restaurant. We suggest that you go to Kiin Kiin for a modern and updated interpretation of Thai dishes with fresh Danish ingredients. End your day with delicious meals and a glass of wine.
