Here’s a helpful guide on how to spend a day in New York.
New York is known for its fashion, museums, art, nightlife, theatre, and incredible restaurants but if you want to really discover New York, you should skip the touristic places and follow this complete day trip guide from a New Yorker.
Morning breakfast and museum hop
If you want to stay close to the most unique places, we suggest staying in SoHo, Manhattan. Start your morning by having bagels at Sadelle’s or LA Burdick for a nice cup of hot chocolate.

Next, go on a museum hop. The Natural History Museum, the MET, MoMA, and Guggenheim are among the most famous ones in NY. But if you have already been there, you can still learn about New York’s history through smaller fascinating institutions. We suggest The NYC Fire Museum, The Skyscraper Museum, New York Transit Museum, or The National Jazz for diverse and unique exhibitions.

When in New York, don’t miss a chance to roam the streets of Nolita (North Little Italy) for unique gems and one-of-a-kind boutiques and the Meatpacking district to walk on the High Line, get a beautiful view of NY and discover all the latest designer boutiques. Then head over to Piccola Cuccina or Burger Joint for lunch, just before going to Fifth Avenue if you are looking for high-end haute couture brands.
